Revamping your website is a great way to boost your conversions, improve user experience and increase visitors. But the most burning question is “When is the right time?”. This blog shows you 3 main points which you should consider before revamping your website.

 

 

1. Functionality

Spend some time surfing your website as a customer would and understand how many clicks does it take to get from the home page to the product you’re looking for? Are answers to your clustomers’ most common questions readily available?

You may have heard of the “three clicks rule” which states that visitors should be able to reach what they’re looking for in three clicks or fewer. While this is a decent guideline,

A study shows that users maintain the same level of satisfaction, between 45 percent and 62 percent, all the way up to 24 clicks. However, for visitors to follow through all these clicks, the transitions needs to be a progressive trail of information that yields something valuable at every step.

2. Mobile Friendliness

Responsive websites are given priority by Google for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). And in this day and age, Sri Lanka’s internet users are moving to mobile. The stats shows that over 70% of the users are conducting their searches on mobile.

3. Consistency

Your website is the initial contact point the world has with you. Therefore, revamping your website gives you the perfect opportunity to polish up its look and feel, but you should not stray too far from your current branding. Make sure customers can still recognize you when they visit the site. Maintaining the same typography, color palette, and imagery in all marketing collaterals and the website will provide an air of consistency and familiarity to the new site. Keep this in mind throughout the design process so you can stay true to the core elements of your organization and branding.
